Privacy Policy

Moreno Financial Services (“we,” “us”) takes your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have. Plain English first; legal precision second.

1. What we collect

  • Account info — email address and password (handled by Clerk, our authentication provider; we never see your password).
  • Budgeting data you enter — income, recurring bills, spending categories, transactions, savings goals.
  • Technical data — anonymous usage analytics, IP address (briefly, to prevent abuse), device type, error logs. No third-party advertising trackers.

2. What we do with it

  • Calculate your monthly budget, savings rate, and category totals.
  • Render the dashboard, what-if planner, debts, and year tracker.
  • Send transactional email — sign-in, password resets, welcome.
  • Improve the product (anonymous, aggregated usage only).

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers. Ever.

3. Who handles your data

We use a small set of well-known providers to run the app. Each receives only the data they need:

  • Clerk — authentication and 2FA
  • Neon (PostgreSQL hosting) — encrypted database
  • Vercel — hosting and CDN

4. How we protect it

  • All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
  • Two-factor authentication is required to sign in.
  • Database backups run daily.
  • Every API request is scoped to your account; you can never see another user’s data.

5. Your rights

You can, at any time, from Settings:

  • Export your budget as CSV.
  • Reset all your data.
  • Manage your account, password, and 2FA factors.

We honor GDPR data subject requests and CCPA opt-out requests within 30 days. Email us at privacy@morenofinancialservices.com.

6. Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we wipe your active data within 7 days and our backups within 30 days.

7. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has signed up, email privacy@morenofinancialservices.com and we’ll delete the account.

8. Changes

If we make material changes, we will email registered users at least 14 days in advance. The current version is always available at this URL.
